You get access to talking books by contacting the library's contact persons. They will give you an account to MTM's catalogue Legimus and also teach you how to download and read talking books.
Karlstad Lean Factory® (KLF) is a unique flexible full scale training environment that resembles an industrial factory. It was built with support from the European Regional Development Fund and from Region Värmland (Sweden).
Originally designed and built for Lean Production training of industrial professionals, it is also used in research, education of university students, and as a catalyst for production innovation.

Once you have decided to study, distance is not an obstacle. A number of programmes and courses can be taken from home. Please note that most programmes and courses have some compulsory on-campus meetings at Karlstad University.
Distance courses and programmes typically start with a group introduction on campus. If your course or programme has compulsory on-campus meetings, these may last for one or several days.
Intercultural Studies offers a wide range of courses that examine various aspects of intercultural society and the subject's philosophical traditions. Courses are taught in Swedish and English, and offered as distance or on-campus courses, full-time or part-time. At Karlstad University, students can choose intercultural studies as the main field of study in a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Karlstad University applies a number of rules for written exams taken in University examination halls.
The rules help keep examinations as fair as possible. To learn the specifics of the exam you are taking, please ask your teacher or the subject’s administrative office. Here are a few important rules to be aware of before your examination.
Registration
You must sign up to take the exam at least 14 days before the exam date.

Loan periods
We have an automatic system for re-loaning items. This means that you will get a 14 day loan period, and that the item's loan period is automatically renewed as long as no one has reserved the item.
Contract educations are professional development training for working professionals, where the employer pays for the education. We offer education in various areas, such as health, leadership and care and nursing.

History is an academic discipline about human beings and society through centuries. The core of historical study of continuity and change at the local, national and international levels is empirical analysis and source critical awareness.
Doctoral programme in Information Systems at Karlstad University.
Information Systems was introduced as an academic discipline at Karlstad University College in 1982 and was approved as a doctoral discipline in connection with the inauguration of Karlstad University in 1999. Research development has since then been based on areas of special interest to researchers and doctoral students.

As of the spring of 2020, there have been some changes in UPE’s range of courses and working strategy regarding competence development for university teachers. The change aims at achieving more flexibility.
It will allow more flexible competence development based on the needs and current work situation of the individual teacher.
Library card / KAU card for students
NEW STUDENTS
When you obtain your KAU card, you can use that as a library card. The PIN you chose for your KAU card is the same that you must use to borrow or reserve books. Contact information is automatically collected from "My Kau"
If you need to borrow before you have obtained your KAU card, you can turn to the Information desks in the library. You can get an account by showing a valid ID, and also your t-number if you are an exchange student.
We offer a number of different ways for exchanging experiences between the business sector and the university.
Mentorship
A mentorship may be a good way of starting a partnership with Karlstad University. Sharing your professional experience with a student is invaluable ahead of his/her first job.
Western music history has largely favored male artists, while female and non-binary artists and composers have been largely excluded from historical narratives. This has contributed to musical canons where important voices are missing.
Research and collaboration are an important part of the department's activities. We strive for an interdisciplinary research environment and to be a leader in our specialist areas. We also collaborate with companies, authorities and organizations.
The department carries out a wide range of research projects in a variety of legal disciplines.
