Koha - new library system
We are changing our library system. The system change will, among other things, affect what it looks like when you search our catalog and make reservations. During a transition period, parts of the system will be down, but we are working to get everything started as soon as possible. On this page you can read more about what the system change means for you as a library user.
UPDATE DEC 7, 2020: It is still not possible to log in to My loans, but we are working to solve the problem as soon as possible.
November 28-30, we will change the library data system. During this period it will not be possible to search the catalog, reserve or make a loan. Loans can be made on site in the library with the help of staff.
You will also not be able to log in to My loans during these days.
UPDATE 201202: most things work but it is still not possible to log in to My Loans.
Course reference books
Course reference books that are usually to be returned no later than 00 on the same day as they are borrowed can be kept over the weekend. This means that if you borrow a course reference book on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, it must be returned no later than Monday 30 November at 10AM.
The system change will entail some changes in terms of our loan periods. We change from open loan period to automatic re-borrowing items. This means that you will get a 14-day loan period, but that the book then is automatically renewed as long as no one is in line. The borrower is notified by e-mail when re-lending can no longer take place.
Login and My loans
Login to My loans is done with KauID for students and staff. Others log in with social security number and PIN code.
Only one email address can be used for messages. If you receive messages to several addresses today, you should check which one will be used. For students, the e-mail address is retrieved from Ladok (MittKau).
The system change will mean longer processing times for acquisitions and interlibrary loans during the run-in period.
Koha is a web-based open source ILS (integrated library system) used by different library types. If you are interested, you can read more about Koha on Wikipedia.
