We offer a number of different ways for exchanging experiences between the business sector and the university.

Mentorship

A mentorship may be a good way of starting a partnership with Karlstad University. Sharing your professional experience with a student is invaluable ahead of his/her first job. In exchange, you get inspiration, new approaches and insight into Karlstad Business School from your mentee.

Degree projects

10-week degree projects based on the business sector are written during the spring and autumn semesters. Participating businesses can receive assistance in doing smaller studies, etc. in exchange for being interviewed or answering questionnaires.

Course-related business contacts

Smaller studies are done for a business as part of a course. We also welcome guest lecturers.

Practical placement courses

We offer students longer and shorter practical placement courses that comprise the following:
1) an introductory seminar at the university,
2) practical assignments in an organisation, completed at the receiving organisation,
3) a concluding seminar at the university.

The receiving organisation is assisted with smaller assignments/studies and students gain practical experience.

Business Breakfast

The idea is simple: A business/organisation hosts and carries the costs of a breakfast and lecture, while the university provides the venue and handles invitations. The Business Breakfast is held every second Thursday of the month, from 8:30–10:00. Hosts have the opportunity of presenting their operations to potential employees. What does working for your business/organisation entail? How does one apply for a job? How do you recruit employees?
