Kemal, what did you study during your time at Karlstad Business School? - I have a Degree of Master in Corporate Finance and Accounting, and a Degree of Bachelor in Mathematics, Business Administration and Economics, specialising in Financial Analysis.   Why did you choose to study at Karlstad Business School? - It was important to me to study at a university with a good balance between theory and practical application of the knowledge.

Two projects led by researchers at Karlstad University have through MIRAI been granted seed funding, which will provide our researchers with opportunities for international collaboration and increased mobility. MIRAI, with support from STINT, announced funding to support research collaborations between the member universities in Japan and Sweden. The aim is to develop new and existing collaborations through innovative projects.

Joann Peck has been appointed Visiting Professor at CTF. The Visiting professorship is funded by Anne-Marie and Gustaf Ander Foundation for Media Research, which provide grants to cover the cost of a visiting professor at the CTF for a month during the next three years. - I am so excited to be invited as a Visiting professor at CTF and Karlstad University. I have been fortunate to work with Anders Gustafsson at CTF on several projects in various retail settings.

He now receives an honorary doctorate from Karlstad University for his accomplishments. Anders Lind is one of the founders of the record company Silence Records and the Silence studio in Koppom, Värmland. He has his roots in the Swedish music movement and is a pillar of Swedish progg.

Georg Gulyas was born in Säffle. His Hungarian father worked at the city library while his Finnish mother worked at the church daycare centre. He acquired his basic qualification in classical guitar from Malmö Academy of Music. After completing his degree, he continued his studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, École Normale de Musique de Paris and Juilliard School in New York.

Thomas J. Scheff, one of Karlstad University’s first honorary doctors, has passed away. The university is saddened by the news of his passing and honors his memory. Bengt Starrin, professor emeritus at Karlstad University, became acquainted with Thomas Scheff in the 1970s and remembers him fondly.

On November 13-14, the IBS Conference, 3rd International Conference on Business Servitization, was held in Bilbao, Spain. Servitization, which was the theme of the conference, is what happens when manufacturing companies start focusing on services. At the conference CTF was represented by researchers Nina Löfberg, Lars Witell and Maria åkesson.
