Summer greetings from the director
2023-07-03I would like to share some fantastic experiences from the 18th edition of QUIS, which is one of the largest international conferences in service research. This time the conference was organised by VinUniversity in Hanoi, Vietnam. It was a very well-organised event where close to two hundred researchers, practitioners from the both the business and public sector, from all corners of the world joined together in idea generation and collaboration around the most important issues in service research. In short, the topics were about the future with increasing digital services and AI, sustainability and how we can better manage the ecosystems that we live and operate in, as well as how we can contribute to better health and increased well-being for people. These are important questions and areas where our research can benefit.
Although summer vacation and time off are at the top of my agenda right now, I look forward to an autumn where we can continue our work and create exciting research in collaboration with various partners. We have many activities going on, not least within our expert program ISE, where we during the autumn will provide six different courses where professionals can deepen their knowledge in areas such as service creation, service design and linked to service innovation and business development.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank colleagues and partners for this spring and wish you all a wonderful summer. I am looking forward to vacation and I think I'll try to devote myself to reading something other than scientific reports. Waiting by the hammock is therefore a book called Topeka School written by Ben Lerner, who has received several awards - not least from former President Barrack Obama.
Have a great summer holiday and hope to see you again when autumn approaches!
Sunny greetings from Karlstad!
