– As part of the Erasmus mobility program, I will be joining Karlstad Business School to contribute to the International Business class as a guest lecturer. My role involves delivering a lecture on International Marketing Ethics, emphasizing sustainability within challenging industries such as tourism and luxury.

Computer Science is the study of both the theorethical and the practical aspects of software development. In Karlstad, the education as well as the research are mainly focused on computer networking, distributed systems, computer security and software engineering.

The Department of Artistic Studies is located on both our campuses - in Karlstad and in Arvika. In Karlstad we provide the dance education program and a wide range of independent courses, such as Dans 60 hp. Arvika is home to the music school Ingesund and our education in Music and Sound Production.
The Programme in Dance Pedagogy is for you who want to work with dance and love to dance.
The EU-funded project Service Design for Innovation, SDIN, aims to build a research platform in service design and innovation through a Europeean training network for early stage reseachers. The project started in January 2015 and is now at the half-way point.
During the first two years the project has achieved the expected results, and the network is well integrated and communicates regularly.

At Karlstad University, we offer PhD programmes in English with specialisation in linguistics or literature, and PhD candidates have the opportunity to design their dissertation projects within either of these subject areas.

Regions appear as more or less stable entities located at fluctuating spatioal levels or intersections of time and space in material, digital and immaterial terms. In general regions are identified, constructed and legitimized through for instance accessibility, administration, culture, heritage, economy, management, nature and natural resources, physical geography and politics.
Art History and Visual Studies is concerned with how people have expressed themselves by giving shape to these expressions through images and forms since they first developed the means to do so, through to today’s prolific flood of images and contemporary art.

Part of the examination task at the course “Advanced service management” at Karlstad Business School is making a poster on your work, like the ones at research conferences. This is a way for the students to show their knowledge- and a way to use research methods in this master's programme.
As previously, all posters were put on display all around the Business school, building 11.
December 2018 BRAZILIAN GOVERNMENT INTERESTED IN SMART SPECIALISATION IN VÄRMLAND
Representatives of the Brazilian government visited Värmland for two days to draw inspiration for regional development. Their visit included a thorough presentation of the Academy for Smart Specialisation and a visit to the Business from Bioeconomy conference.

"Hand in hand we stand" is a project in collaboration between students, teachers, school health services, and school leaders. The goal is to develop a model to promote mental health among young people in the school environment.
The aim of the research project is to develop a model for health promotion work in school environments with a focus on mental health among children and adolescents.
The Centre for Language and Literature Education (CSL) is a multidisciplinary research environment in which researchers and teachers from different subjects cooperate on subject-specific education research and development work. CSL researchers are actively engaged in different research groups at Karlstad University as well as in national, Nordic and international networks.

Renee McDonald has lived most of her life in Texas, United States. She is one of three children of working-class parents. She had a 10-year career as a software and systems developer, attending night classes along the way to work toward a college degree. Realizing she enjoyed the field of psychology, she returned to college full time and then went to graduate school to obtain a PhD in clinical psychology.
Although Christmas and the holiday break is a time for recovery, research shows that it is the opposite for many of us and that we become increasingly stressed at this time of year. Professor Per Kristensson at Service Research Center (CTF) at Karlstad University provides helpful tips on how to reduce stress and enjoy Christmas more.

The focus area “System Aspects” address research and development that is required in order to migrate current systems towards intelligent systems that leverage the full potential of Cloud/Edge Computing, AI and Analytics pipelines.
