Thursday, 2/5, 9:30-11:00, 12A225 Humlan, KuFo guest lecture (with lecturer online): "Recovering SNCC’s Narrative Culture and Building on SNCC’s Stories.” Sharon Monteith, Distinguished Professor of American Literature and Cultural History at Nottingham Trent University. Sharon Monteith will reflect on the different methodologies she used to recover the civil rights organisation’s internal culture in her award-winning book and discuss her current project on the personal and psychological costs of activism. Amrita Ghosh will present her book Kashmir’s Necropolis: Literary, Cultural, and Visual Texts (Lexington Books, 2023).
