The project A Literary History of Värmland serves a number of purposes. One aim concerns university policy and emphasises the way in which Karlstad University is responsible for and situated in the local cultural environment of the province of Värmland. This is done through making a significant part of its history available to the general public, in a work of literary history which can be used in teaching, museums, tourism, and other contexts in the region and further afield.
