Karlstad University will install and launch additive manufacturing laboratory (AT-LAB) at the university. The laboratory will be an interface between academia and regional companies, creating opportunities for organization and realization of efficient knowledge transfer.
I am a researcher in English linguistics, focusing primarily on language and interaction in social media. I mainly work with textual materials from popular social media platforms, but often combine this with multimodal discourse analysis.
Since 2018, my research has mainly focused on political discourse and metadiscourse in social media.

Digital examinations are a part of a number of courses at Karlstad University. You will receive more information from teaching staff if your courses are examined digitally. Students complete digital exams on their own computers, or on computers borrowed for this purpose.
As a student, you are responsible for preparing for writing a digital exam.
For a short period, we will have 2 different systems in which we will do digital exams.

The library subscribes to 12 000 journals, both Swedish and International. Most of them are electronic versions, but about 150 are print journals.
E-journals
Most of the journals are available in electronic form and access is restricted to the University campus.
Health insurance is one of the foundations of Swedish welfare, and a security for citizens that are unable to work due sick leave. Today, citizens on sick leave have to work and be active in their contact with administrative officers at the Social Insurance Agency, in what is named bureaucratic co-creation, to get their case processed and to receive health insurance benefits.
Teaching is a profession that is both challenging and satisfying, and surely one of the most important ones for society. Karlstad University is well-known for its programmes in teacher education. English studies are offered as part of these programmes.
At Karlstad University we offer degree programmes for all educational levels, from preschool to upper secondary education.
Interventions increase the chances of succeeding in changing and maintaining a new behavior in the long run. This is shown in a recently published study from CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University.
"Interventions are about promoting a behavioral change with targeted programs or services," says Frida Skarin, Doctoral Student in Psychology and main author of the article.
