Gisela Priebe, professor of psychology and director of the The Centre for Research on the Mental Health and Life Circumstances of Children and Youth (CBU), is one of the speakers at "Barnrättsdagarna" (the Children's Rights Days) held from 31 March to 2 April in Karlstad. This year's theme, "The Child as a Rights Holder and the Best Interests of the Child," is a constantly relevant topic for Gisela and CBU's research.

Rhetoric, literature – what’s the difference? For hundreds of years, no one bothered to ask – literature was simply seen as a species of rhetoric.
This spring yet another PhD student has been affiliated with CTF. We are happy to welcome JanErik Odhe, PhD student in Machine Design at KTH, Stockholm, and university lecturer at Karlstad University.
JanErik Odhe is investigating how to measure servitization in manufacturing companies, which involve development processes and business models. He is involved in two current projects at CTF.

Karlstad University conducts research and development of intelligent control systems for greenhouse lighting system. In the greenhouse on campus, researchers have grown tomatoes using renewable energy from solar cells. There is also a battery energy storage in place in case there is a surplus of renewable solar energy generated.

At Karlstad University, there is research on polymer solar cells and how these can be made more stable and effective. Recently, a doctoral thesis was presented on how solar cell materials and functions are affected by contact with air and light.
