KauID - student account

Students need a KauID in order to use the digital services at Karlstad University. Here you will find information on how to activate your KauID and what it gives you access to.

You can activate your KauID when you have received your second admission decision. In admission rounds with only one selection, such as admission to summer courses, you can activate your KauID when you have received your first admission decision.

You can use one of the following services to activate your KauID:

  • Universityadmissions.se
  • eduID
  • Freja+
  • BankID

Note! To get Freja+ or BankID, you need to have a Swedish personal identity number.

I have an account at universityadmissions.se or eduID, or I already use Freja+ or BankID

You can activate your KauID using any of the services (Antagning.se, eduID, Freja+ and BankID) via this link.

I don't have a user account for antagning.se or EDUID and I don't use Freja or BankID

If you do not use any of the services (Antagning.se, eduID, Freja+ and BankID), you can order an activation code via the link below. Please note that it may take a few days for you to receive the code.

Once you have received your activation code, use it to activate your KauID via this link.

You can also visit the student support at Karlstad University to activate your KauID. Bring your ID to the student support located in the Welcome Center (campus Karlstad) in building 1E on weekdays at 11:00-13:00 during term time.

You can reset your KauID password using any of the services (Antagning.se, eduID, Freja+ and BankID). If you do not use any of these services, you can still order an activation code via the link below. Please note that it may take a few days for you to receive the code.

What can I use KauID for?

Ladok for students

Student email

Your KauID gives you access to a personal email account. By adding "@student.kau.se" to your username, you will get your email address.

Student Computers

KauID gives you access to computers in computer rooms. For access to the subjects' computer rooms, contact the subject's administrator.

Wireless network – Wi-Fi

If you want to use your own computer, tablet or phone, you can connect to Wi-Fi with your KauID.

Karlstad University Library

With your KauID, you get access to the University Library's e-books, e-journals, databases and more, even when you are outside the university campus.
