RITE - Reducing Internet Transport Latency

CS » Research » Avslutade projekt » Internationella projekt
Reducing Internet Transport Latency (RITE) aims to remove the root causes of unnecessary latency over the Internet. Whilst time-of-flight delay is inevitable, greater delays can result from interactions between transport protocols and buffers. The present Internet limits the performance of applications that need real-time interaction. In part this is because the design of the network has been optimised to boost throughput, maximising efficiency for bulk applications.
