On June 12-15 researchers from CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University, Sweden, gathered in Porto for the QUIS15 symposium. The symposium is held every other year and attracts around 250 leading researchers and executives from all over the world. CTF researchers Per Skålén, Carolina Camén and Bo Edvardsson participated in a workshop on Transformative service research.
Robotics is multidisciplinary research field involving topics including mechanical, control and electrical engineering as well as computer science and artificial intelligence.

Solar cell researchers from Karlstad University have once again conducted experiments in zero gravity during parabolic flights in Bordeaux, France. The aim is to study how the structure of the active layer of the polymer solar cell is formed, to thereby be able to increase its efficiency. – This is the second time we have conducted experiments during parabolic flights, says Jan van Stam, Professor of Physical Chemistry at Karlstad University.

The core of Materials Research are scientists in Materials Engineering, Materials Physics, Physical Chemistry and Mechanical Engineering. Doctoral programme in English at Karlstad University. PhD studies in English may be pursued with a specialisation in linguistics or literature, and admitted PhD candidates have the opportunity to design their dissertation projects within either of these subject areas. Thirteen PhD degrees have been awarded since 1999, when English was approved as a doctoral discipline. The PhD programme in English is largely designed individually.
