2021 is soon coming to and end. In this Christmas greeting, the director sums up some highlights of the past year.
Christmas and New Year approaches, and soon we can put another eventful and challenging year behind us. When I look back and sum up the past year, there are, despite the pandemic, several important achievements and positive happenings. First, and most important, is everyone's efforts in these challenging times.
In 2021, we have celebrated CTF’s 35th anniversary in several ways, among other things through a seminar series. We had four PhD defenses, one Licentiate defense and several of our senior researchers have been promoted to associate professor or professor. We have welcomed number of new researchers and doctoral students, and can now boast with as many as eight scientific disciplines represented at CTF.
During the year, we have launched a number of new courses within the ISE project. In ISE we develop courses for working professionals in collaboration with companies and organizations in order to strengthen the Swedish business sector. Several of our researchers and doctoral students have been seen and heard in the media and in other contexts. I have seen examples of how our research has been used among our partners and other companies and organizations, which is proof that our research is important and beneficial to society. It makes me both proud and happy. Another important proof is that some of our researchers were awarded for their research during the year.
In conclusion, I would like to thank all colleagues and partners for your efforts and good collaboration. Enjoy some time off and hopefully we can see each other soon and work under more normal circumstances again.
