Working Life Science is the study of work at the levels of the individual, organisation, and society, centring on areas such as the organisation of work and its consequences, the development of the labour market and the meaning of work in our lives.
Working Life Science offers education at all university levels including the doctoral level and contract courses.

Starting this autumn, all public spaces such as classrooms and group rooms will be equipped with sensors. The aim is to gain a better understanding of how the premises are used. The installation of sensors does not cover offices or staff rooms.
The purpose of installing the sensors is to measure how the premises are used, in order to make more efficient use of the premises, reduce energy consumption and improve the indoor climate.

Welcome to the department of law and to Sweden's newest law programme!
Since fall 2017, we offer a complete law programme. Karlstad University is thus the seventh university in Sweden authorized to issue a law degree. The content of the programme is characterized by collaboration with the surrounding region, proximity between teachers and students, and the link between theoretical knowledge and experience through practical elements.
Besides publication of scientific results in various journals we also publish our research in other formats, to situate it in a wider context or to reach a wider target group.

The notion of interculturality is often said to have been central in teacher education and training in Europe and other parts of the world over the past 30 years. It is mostly through the concept of intercultural competence that interculturality has been constructed and problematized for both (student) teachers and students.
Herbjörn Nysveen is a Professor in Marketing at the Department for Strategy and Management at the Norwegian School of Economics, Bergen, Norway. He will be visiting CTF during the next 9 moths.

How should research and innovation for a green transition based on the forest as a common resource be promoted? This is the starting-point for the three-year Interreg project ”Innovation for green transition in the forest”, a cooperation project between Karlstad University, Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences and a number of other partners.
Renewable materials and biomass should be used sustainably in a circular cycle to guarantee supply, regional development and growth in the area.

Education is a very important part of Karlstad University's work and can also be offered to employees in companies and organizations. We offer evening courses and distance education in Pulp and Paper Technology, so that working people can follow the courses as commissioned education.
University of Vaasa (Finland), Karlstads universitet (Sverige) och Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (Tyskland) genomför tillsammans en tvärvetenskaplig workshop som vänder sig till forskare. Workshopen genomförs på engelska. Syftet är att utforska gemensamma forskningsintressen inom Computer Science, Data-Science och Big Data.
Many rivers have been impacted by hydropower developments. As a result many organisms can no longer move freely through watercourses to lakes and oceans. Naturalistic fish passages built to approximate natural streams enable most fish species to pass such obstacles.
Fish passages that approximate natural streams have often been shown to be better than technical fish passages since they allow more fish species to pass.
Separatistiska rum för trygghet (Separatist Spaces for Security) is a project that explores separatist environments in contemporary society and the potential avenues for promoting greater gender equality.
The women's movement has consistently highlighted the significance of establishing locations exclusively for women, aiming to empower and emancipate women on both an individual and collective level.
