Law
Law at Karlstad Business School offers modern undergraduate and master programmes and courses in law, not least the Law programme (270 ETS cr) starting in the autumn 2017. We provide learning with focus on the students' development and teaching in small groups and close contact with the tutors.
Legal studies at Karlstad University's Business School originates in the commercial law courses offered at the Karlstad branch of Gothenburg University from1968 and onwards. The courses were part of the business administration programme. In 1996, undergraduate studies in law as a main field of study started and some years later a Master's programme in tax law and economics. In 1996, we were also granted the authorisation to award a Master of Arts degree in law and in 2009 the Bachelor degree programme in legal science started, but will be phased out and replaced by the new Master of Laws programme in 2017.
Karlstad Business School comprises seven disciplines and a staff of 120. The common denominator is the interest in economy and commercial enterprises from different perspectives. There are 2 400 students involved in undergraduate and master-level high quality academic studies and practical applications. Leadership, ethics and research-based education are important key words.
The Business School is part of Karlstad University, which has the ambition to contribute to international, regional and individual knowledge development. Education and research are pursued in close dialogue with the public and private sectors, in one of the most inspiring and friendly university environments in Sweden.
