In a new study at the Centre for Societal Risk Research at Karlstad University we examine how elderly people in Sweden experience risk in regards of the ongoing corona-pandemic, their ability and willingness to handle the situation and their experiences of how mental health is affected by the situation.

The ongoing corona-pandemic has been rapidly developing and information on the new virus is extensive.

The researchers have studied a two-week free public transportation-trial where people, who fulfilled certain criteria, were allowed to travel free of charge by public transport for two weeks.

Over the next two years, researchers at CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University, will investigate how the Internet of Things, IoT, can be used in creating a better school environment and improving student health. The project will be carried out together with a number of actors and is based on a secondary school in Arvika Municipality, Sweden.
The focus of the project is to find out how IoT can measure children’s and young people’s health at school.

The pandemic threw intensive care personnel into innumerable challenges and upheavals. A new study looks at the managers’ role and experiences during this period. The researchers behind the study conclude that the dramatic transition of intensive care came at a high organisational and personal cost, and that there are lessons to be learned.
