This pilot study investigates digital development and consumer-oriented content in the tourism industry. The aim is to develop methods and ideas on how a destination can enrich and enhance the tourist experience through digital means, and in addition, to investigate what it would take for the Värmland tourism industry to reach such a goal. The study has an inherent critical approach.
Johan Quist, associate professor in Business Administration, was one of four invited researchers who took part in the seminar “Meeting complex challenges with the help of research”.

Elin Ringqvist had originally intended to go to the United States to do her traineeship at the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in Georgia, but the corona pandemic put a stop to this plan. The opportunity for a traineeship at a distance arose and has turned out to be a really positive experience.
Elin studied media and communication science specializing in digital analysis and graduated in January 2021.
Per Kristensson, you and three colleagues wrote a debate article with this headline in the Swedish newspaper DN Debate regarding the spread of Covid-19. What do you mean by this?
"We believe that governmental agencies and regional authorities have a naïve understanding of how to change people’s behavior.
There are many ways to understand principals' way of practicing school leadership. In this survey study, we explore how principals' actions are related with teachers' expectations of the principal assignment. How this social role is practised depends on the expectations placed on the position of the role in the social system in which it is included, but also on the expectations of the function to be fulfilled.

The climate movement groups Fridays for Future and Extinction Rebellion aim for the same goal while using different methods. Sol Agin, who recently completed her PhD in media and communication studies, has focused her research on their way of communicating about an extremely complicated subject.
When Swedish people speak up on behalf of the environment, they prefer to do so in the form of peaceful protests inspired by Greta Thunberg’s work with Fridays for Future.

Businesses and public organizations continuously work on developing new services or products in order to be innovative. One important part in this work is to know how ideas for new services and products are evaluated, since the idea screening determine whether an idea is considered good, and whether it will continue its development as an innovation project.

- Visual regimes of urban platformization: aesthetics, glitch, communication
Friday, 7 October, 14:00-15:30
Live on Campus or on Zoom (link will be sent out)
Abstract
In this talk, I engage with the visual regimes of urban platformization as an emergent and crystalizing logic in cities. Drawing on a range of empirical instances from North American cities, I situate and trace urban platform visualities in three registers: aesthetics, the glitch, and communication.
The schedule is continually updated and subject to change. Seminar materials are normally distributed via the KuFo and ISLI mailing lists. Anyone not reached by these lists should feel free to contact us.

Folk music is one of the three generic areas at Ingesund School of Music (MHI). We offer individual classes, practice time and the opportunity to play in ensembles. Students further have the option of studying abroad.
At MHI, folk music mainly refers to Swedish and Nordic folk music, but we also look to the rest of the world and sample music from other countries and cultures. We examine the folk music tradition of Värmland in depth.
