COLLABORATION AND OUTREACH IN CULTURAL STUDIES
The teachers in Cultural Studies hold lectures outside the academic community on a regular basis and are frequently asked to participate as experts in various media contexts, as well as being requested to provide their expertise to various organisations and institutions in the surrounding community.

Cultural Studies has well-established collaborations with Västanå Theatre, Värmland’s Museum, Alma Löv Museum of Unexpected Art, Alsters Herrgård, the Cultural Division of Region Värmland, Mårbacka Memorial Estate, Sahlströmsgården, Värmland’s Museum Association, Värmland Art Association, Värmland Archive Centre, and Karlstad Municipality.
We are also represented as members, contact persons and editorial members of the Swedish Arts Council, the think tank Humtank, the board of the Society of Art Historians, the editorial council of the Journal of Art History, the Network for Suicide Researchers and Regional Suicide Prevention Coordinators, the steering group of the Network for the Political History of Ideas (Nätverket för politisk idéhistoria), European Alliance for Social Sciences and Humanities (EASSH), the project group of the culture festival Eldkonst (Fire art), and the editorial committee of the Publication Series in Cultural Studies (Kulturvetenskapliga skriftserien) at Karlstad University.
