The language café

The language café at the university library will continue during the spring semester 2018. The language café will take place every tuesday between 4 pm - 6 pm. The time and place are the same but now students are in charge of the café. The Language Café is aimed for anyone who wants to improve there spoken Swedish, but you need to be able to speak and understand some Swedish to participate.

On 1 August, Jerker Moodysson took office as the new vice-chancellor of Karlstad University. – It feels good to get started and I’m happy in my new role, he says. What have the first days been like? – There is, of course, a lot to take in at the start. New colleagues, new systems and routines. I have spent a lot of time talking to colleagues in the organisation, and I will continue to do so. My ambition is to get to know both colleagues and the organisation properly.

With more than 200 released productions that have sold millions of copies, the co-founder of Silence Records and Silence studio, Anders Lind, is one of Sweden’s greatest music producers. He now receives an honorary doctorate from Karlstad University for his accomplishments. Anders Lind is one of the founders of the record company Silence Records and the Silence studio in Koppom, Värmland. He has his roots in the Swedish music movement and is a pillar of Swedish progg.

Värmland has received stricter general guidelines and Karlstad University is adapting teaching and research accordingly. In line with this, all activities will as far as possible take place remotely. A vice-chancellor’s decision was made on Monday following the new stricter general guidelines for Värmland County from the Public Health Agency. Karlstad University is taking its responsibility to help reduce the spread of infection.

We are happy to welcome Jasenko Arsenovic, new Ph. D student in Business Administration to CTF. He will conduct his doctoral studies at CTF and is also linked to MIT, the Swedish Research School of Management and IT. Jasenko Arsenovic  has a Master’s of Science in Business and Economics from Linnaeus Univeristy and a Master´s degree in Informatics from IT, Management and Innovation program at Jönköping International Business School.
