We welcome Alexandre Sukhov, new Ph. D student in Business Administration. He has an interest in the methodologies for service innovations, and is studying the impact of idea refinement and its implications in the idea assessment process. The purpose is to find ways of generating and selecting ideas that lead to an increased rate of product and service innovations.

New dictionaries online!
The university library have subscribes to several dictionaries from Norstedts through Wordfinder online.
The dictionaries are available on the university or by logging in with your NetID. If you creatre a personal account using your @kau email address you can also download an app to your cellphone.
Students and employees may search bilingual dictionaries from Norstedts, in English, Swedish, Italian, Spanish, French, Finnish and German.

The language café at the university library will continue during the spring semester 2018.
The language café will take place every tuesday between 4 pm - 6 pm. The time and place are the same but now students are in charge of the café.
The Language Café is aimed for anyone who wants to improve there spoken Swedish, but you need to be able to speak and understand some Swedish to participate.

This venue is chosen partly due to its suitability as a conference venue but also due to the conference double aims of inclusion and sustainability. The school kitchen is fully equipped to prepare Swedish fika (coffee/tea and snack breaks) and cooked lunch for large groups, as well as a and conference. We are able to have 13 parallel sessions in the building we will use.
In addition, the big auditorium can gather all 500 participants at the keynote presentations.
Teachers from the subject of Swedish contribute to other courses and programmes at Karlstad University, primarily teaching written and oral presentation skills.
We can also offer commissioned courses through Uppdrags AB, for instance in reading and writing development, rhetoric, and presentation techniques.
This year's Sustainability Day at the Business School centred to a great extent on the art of moving from talking to acting, turning ideas and plans into speed and action, since knowledge means nothing without the ability to use it.

Compare Business Innovation Centre (C-BIC) is a co-operation between Compare and Karlstad University. It aims to stimulate business development, research and innovation with the regional ICT industry as its starting point.
The project has a focus on test and security and should contribute to enhanced regional knowledge. The project is funded by EU regional funds.

- I spent the most recent years completing a degree in primary education, school years 4–6. I have also been lecturing at Karlstad University - mainly administrative law and local government law as well as jurisprudence and EU law to some extent. I really enjoyed working as a teacher and learned a lot.
