3. Literature
The library has the books required for all the courses available at the university. There are copies for borrowing and for some titles there is also a reference copy.

- Course literature loan
Course literature intended for normal home loan is placed on the same shelves as other literature and borrowed according to the same regulations.
- Course reference books
The library holds a reference collection of the most popular course books. These books have yellow markers on their spines and are placed in room 1E 225 on floor 2.
Borrowing course reference books
All course reference books must be borrowed before they can be taken out of room 1E 225. There is a Self-checkout machine in the room. The loan period is one day, but the book must be returned the same day at 23:59. If you don't return the book on time, an overdue fine of SEK 250 per book is charged.
Please note that not all books on literature lists are included in the course reference collection.
Locating material in the library
To find a book in the library you must first use the library catalogue to see where a book is shelved and whether it is available for borrowing. There are several collections in the library and the books in the various collections are marked and placed in different ways.
The most recent books (from 2011 onwards) are placed on level 3. There, the books are placed according to a subject code (SAB system) and a number consisting of YEAR + number (for example: Shelf Dd 2016:2)
Books from 2010 and older are located on floor 2. They are also placed by a subject code (SAB system), but they are sorted alphabetically by author or title (books are placed on the title when the book only has a editor and no author)
E-books
The library has access to electronic books. You find the e-books by searching in OneSearch, our catalogue or through the link "e-books" on our homepage.
Students and staff have access to e-books outside the university by using their KauID (student account).
