Finding books on the shelves

Locating material in the library
To find a book in the library you must first use the library catalogue to see where a book is shelved and whether it is available for borrowing.
New books are placed by a subject code and number
Books purchased from 2011 onwards are placed in a new section on floor 3. There, the books are placed according to a subject code (SAB system) and a number consisting of YEAR + number (Call number Dd 2019:11)
In this example from the library catalogue you can see that the library holds three copies of the book -- two copies shelved at Dd 2019:11 and another copy in the course reference collection (Kursreferens)
In the Status column you can see if the book is available, or checked out.

Shelf Dd 2019:11
You can find this book by locating the Dd shelf in the new section on floor 3. On the Dd shelf, the books are sorted by year and a number - Dd 2019:11 -
Course reference books
The copy in the course reference collection is placed on the course reference shelf in room 1E225 on floor 2. Here the books are sorted alphabetically by author, or title if the book has an editor.
A TIP! To see where a shelf is located, click on Floor 3, See map, and a map with a pointer will open.
Books from 2010 and older are placed by a subject code and in alphabetic order
To find this book you must go to the Dd shelf in the "old section" on floor 2. On the Dd shelf, the books are sorted in alphabetic order, by author, or if the book has an editor, by title. In this example, the book is sorted on the author - Guvå.
