Olle, could you tell us about your background before joining Karlstad Business School and the Service Research Center (CTF)?
– I have a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from Karlstad Business School, where I studied the master's program in Innovation and Service Development. During my time at Karlstad Business School, I also taught mathematics to first-year students, which was both fun and educational.

– Thank you, it feels good! I had my midway seminar just before Christmas, which was rewarding. It was a good opportunity to summarize how the project has progressed so far and articulate my thoughts about the future.

– I have over 20 years of work experience from Lodz in Poland, New York, Stockholm, and London, with over ten years dedicated to service design.

At Karlstad Business School you will meet students from all over the world. They study here in Karlstad one semester, one year, two years or at PhD level. Some study only courses and programmes at Karlstad Business School while others take advantage of being part of a whole university and choose courses in areas such as interculture och gender studies.
What is life like as an international student at Karlstad Business School?

Students who are looking for lab, prototyping, and testing help to conduct their course assignments, projects, thesis works should look in the "The Usability Lab and Systems" in the menu.
During the winter of 2023/2024, a collaboration was initiated with operations developers at Karlstad municipality's Contact Centre.
KuFo currently funds one doctoral student, Judith Kiros, but several doctoral students at the Department of Language, Literature and Intercultural Studies are supervised by KuFo members, participate in the department's doctoral seminar, or are otherwise associated with the group.

The purpose of the student union is to help the individual student in trouble. They give support and advice on issues concerning studying and student life in general.
Karlstad Student Union is an organization that looks after your interests during your studies.
The PhD Mini Conference (doctoral colloquium) will be held at Karlstad University on October 22-23, 2024, alongside the main FEKIS conference. The PhD Mini Conference starts on October 22 after lunch (following the FEKIS PhD course in the morning), and will be held in a constructive, collaborative, inclusive and friendly environment.
The PhD Mini Conference will commence with a keynote of an internationally recognised research leader.
At the end of the spring term, Karlstad Student Union took the opportunity to surprise some members of the teaching staff that students wished to pay special tribute to. "Celebrate a teacher" was the name of the campaign running during the spring semester and on 19 June the result was announced on the student union Instagram.
Individual students as well as societies had been invited to nominate candidates via videos published on the student union Instagram.

Proximity to nature and to Ingesund School of Music are the two main advantages to living in one of MHI’s two student accommodations. A total of 20 rooms can be rented for the academic year, but not during the summer vacation, when they are rented out to participants in summer courses.
Each room is furnished with a bed, chest of drawers, desk and lamps. Students supply their own bedding and tableware.
