We have different backgrounds and research projects, but share a common interest in school development and leadership and its organizational conditions. Four computer science students at Karlstad University have been recognized for their exceptional project work in the Software Engineering course. The project team, comprising Jonatan Altebro, Viktor Hajto, Martin Ramnér and Elmar Gebre Yekuno, earned high praise from faculty for their professionalism and innovation. The team developed GoldenYears, an Android application designed to support elderly users in maintaining their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

The International Project, the IPC project, enables student teachers to meet online to exchange experiences in an international perspective without having to study abroad during parts of their education. At the end of June, teacher education researchers from all over the world gather within the IPC project at Karlstad University for their annual conference. Student mobility and studying abroad plays a marginal role in the individual experience of teacher students.

PhD Student, Alexandre Sukhov, has published an article that investigates citizen involvement in evaluations of new ideas for Public Transport Services. Idea evaluation is a voting process where citizens can express their likes and dislikes for new innovation projects that may impact their lives.

One of the participants was Petter Falk, PhD student at CTF. WASP-HS funds a large number of PhD students to give them the best possible start towards becoming the AI researchers of tomorrow.

At an international conference in Djerba, Tunisia, our visiting PhD student José Pablo De la Rosa Gutiérrez won an award for his presentation on robotics programming. – Collaborative robots can be used in many ways, says Jorge Solis, Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering. Modern robotics, where collaboration between man and machine is governed through programming and gesture recognition, can be used in healthcare as well as in the manufacturing industries.
