Marketing Strategies is a course for business administration students who are in their final year of the bachelor's programme or the third year of the Programme in Business and Economics . The course offers students an opportunity to work with real-life cases to improve the marketing strategies of companies or organisations.

26-28 August, PhD students and researchers in the Centre for Natural Disaster Science (CNDS) gathered for the CNDS annual assembly.
For the fift consecutive year CNDS met at Sunnersta Herrgård outside Uppsala to make progress reports of individual research projects and discuss common topics such as interdisciplinary research collaborations in the centre.

Why did you choose the Dance Pedagogy programme?
“I took the Dance 60 and Dance and Learning courses earlier, and I knew that I wanted to work with dance in some way. I was wondering which direction I should take when I heard of the new Dance Pedagogy programme. I also like studying in Karlstad and didn’t want to move, so I was really glad when the Dance Pedagogy programme started here at Karlstad University.
Öyvind Alster has been working as a special educational needs co-ordinator at the Student Health Services since this autumn.
– The students have found their way to me and book appointments.

This is the third literary award that Judith Kiros has received in short succession for her poetry book.
Jenny Karlsson and Peter Samuelsson, both PhD students at CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University, Sweden, participated in the AMA Servsig doctoral consortium preceding the 2017 Frontiers in Service Conference held in June 21-22 at Fordham University, New York. We recently caught up with Jenny and Peter and asked them to tell us about the consortium.

Lucia Casap from Academy of Economic Study of Moldova visits Information Systems for three weeks in june 2015.
Lucia's research study bears the provisional title “E-Governance: Harmonization of education information systems in Moldova by implementing EMIS”. EMIS is Education Management Information Systems. For her trip to Sweden she has received a Japanese scholarship administrated by UNESCO. Next year she plans to stay for two months.

There was strong demand for places at the 11th International IFIP Summer School on Privacy and Identity held in Karlstad, Sweden last month thanks to recent changes in EU data protection regulations and the emergence of smart Big Data.
Around 90 people attended the interdisciplinary program, which ran from 21-26 August, focusing on data protection and information privacy from technical, legal, ethical, HCI and industrial perspectives.

- Thank you, it is wonderful to be back! I feel very excited, and thanks to my previous visit I am a bit familar with the place and the people here. During my previous stay I was finalizing my PhD studies.

This PhD project focuses on academically gifted students’ relation to physical activity during compulsory schooling years. All students spend a large part of their childhood in school settings, which is an important arena for children’s learning and development. All children, and thereby students, should have the opportunity to be physically active in school settings based on their individual needs and abilities.
For three weeks, nine prospective early childhood teachers and one lecturer from Victoria University in Australia have taken part in an international exchange programme at Karlstad University. The exchange combined work-based learning placements (VFU) at preschools and schools with university teaching, with a particular focus on Swedish preschool pedagogy and didactics.
