Publish your student thesis in DiVA
Once your thesis is approved by the examiner it must be registered in the university's publication database DiVA.
Paper archiving of student papers and theses at Karlstad University have ceases. Instead, you are asked to register your work in the university's publication databas DiVA. Read the instructions below to learn how.
Add a title page / cover template to your thesis
Use the University's template for the title page. Make sure the template is filled in correctly as instructed for your course. Enter the date that the paper / thesis is approved by the examiner (month and year) . If your program/course uses serial numbers, write it underneath the field for date. Create a PDF-file of the final version of your thesis
Create a PDF-file of the final version of your thesis if you wish to publish your thesis as fulltext. The file should consist of both the actual thesis and the cover. Create a PDF-file
Register your approved student thesis in DiVA
When your thesis is approved by the examiner, you need to register it in DiVA. You Log into DiVA using your student account (KauID). Change language to English by clicking on språk in the upper right hand corner.
Fill in as much information as you can in the web form. Please observe that some information is requested (marked with an asterisk). In addition to mandatory information on the form, it is also important that you complete the training program and / or subject / course so that your registration go to the right administrator. The more infomation you provide the easier it will be to find to find your thesis for other people. If you are uncertain about what a field means, you can find useful help by clicking on the questionmark next to the headers.
If you wish to publish your thesis as fulltext you can upload the PDF-file and send all the information. Choose Add publication/upload files. Choose publication type, which is student thesis.
On the last page you can double check the information you have entered before you click the submit button.
Publication carried out by the DiVA administrator
Once your registration is complete, i.e. after pressing the button "Submit", the administrator in charge of your course receives an email informing him/her that you have entered information about your thesis in DiVA . At this stage you are not able to either see or change information you have provided. The administrator will check everything and add the archive file that he/she gets from your examiner. Once this is done you will receive a confirmation e-mail that your work is available in DiVA. This last step requires that you have entered your e-mail address in DiVA (address will not be published).
