We are pleased to welcome our new PhD student, Emad Uddin, who will work on the Drive project, focusing on improving service quality in 5G and 6G networks through data-driven analysis. The core of the project is to analyze network traffic over time using statistics and machine learning to make better decisions and adapt traffic based on the network’s status.

The university board has decided on a strategic investment to recruit more doctoral students. SEK50 million will be set aside to increase the number of doctoral students during the period 2025 to 2028. The investment is funded by the university’s agency capital and will be distributed on an annual basis, amounting to SEK12.5 million per year. The first steps will be taken already in 2024.

At the summit, in the Google Engineering Office in Munich, Germany, the students had the opportunity to explore complex and large-scale computing challenges.

Tell us about your background. - I studied for a master's in IT and management at Högskolan Väst in Tröllhättan last year, as well as a bachelor's in  IT engineering in my country, Iran. I also have a couple of years of work in computer networks and a couple of years I worked in industry. Tell us about your previous research - For my master's thesis, I studied the adoption of blockchain-based applications in higher education.

We welcome PhD Student Christoph Peters from Kassel University in Germany. He will be visiting us until October 4. Christoph Peters is a PhD Student at Kassel University where he works at the Chair of Information Systems led by Prof. Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister.  Christoph’s main research interests are service modularization and service modeling of complex services, i.e. they consist of person-oriented as well as IT service parts.

It is a well-known fact that organizational change often entails major challenges for employees within an organization, and that many difficulties linked to different change initiatives often can be traced back to psychological or psychosocial factors in the individual.

... You recently hade your midway seminar, how did it go and can you tell us about your research? It went well! I received good feedback from the opponent and know what I need to continue working on. I am researching customer experiences and am interested in the process and process measurement tools that can capture customer experiences in real-time. Previous research has mainly focused on the outcome of an experience and is based on memories of a customer experience.
