Three research students from Karlstad Business School are currently in Oxford to participate in an international masterclass for graduate students in law.
The Trans Studies Research Residency programme has a main focus on academic and artistic researchers, ranging from doctoral students to full professors, working in the field of Trans Studies. The programme has been running since February 2017.
The Hotspot job fair, the Snits networking group for students, mentoring and a summer course. This proved a successful combination for IT student Raymond Berglind, who is currently completing the final year of the computer engineering programme at Karlstad University and who has now developed an app for Evry, an industry partner in Snits.

Hanna Bertilsdotter Rosqvist started her research career in sociology and gender studies at Lund University. She completed her PhD in sociology in 2007 with a doctoral thesis on male bisexuality, as part of the Gender Research School at Umeå University. She has since taught and conducted research in interdisciplinary settings at various universities in Sweden.

What can you actually work with after completing the Sports and Health Coaching Programme at Karlstad University? At least once a year, current students of the programme receive answers during alumni days organized by the programme.
Leonardo Martucci is an electrical engineer. He holds a five-year degree in electrical engineering and a two-year master's in the same field from the University of São Paulo. He completed his PhD in Computer Science at Karlstad University, followed by postdoctoral appointments at TU Darmstadt, Germany, and Linköping University.
Through close collaboration between the disciplines of law and information systems at Karlstad Business School, students can now specialise in legal tech.
– We have a unique advantage in that it’s natural for us to work together across disciplines. This enables us to offer students cutting-edge training, says Cyril Holm, docent in law.
The studies are demanding, fast-paced and challenging, as the courses are interdisciplinary and taught in English.

Two years ago, the course “Service Management and IT: Electronic Business” was made available in English. Today, it appeals to both Swedish-speaking and International students.
In 2011 we conducted an alumni survey where every student acquiring 90 study credits or more from the Department of Economics during the last 3 to 5 years were invited to participate. 68 students (approx. 60%) responded to the survey. A summary of the survey responses shows that:

NOD consists of representatives from Prevas, Tietoevry, Saab, Volvo, Karlstad Municipality, Compare, student representatives and other representatives from KaU.
NOD is part of Campus Connect at Karlstad University and started in the spring of 2025. NOD is aimed at program students in computer science. Through activities throughout the year, NOD makes it easier for students and companies to find each other.
At the higher seminar, the political scientists at Karlstad university discuss various research-related topics found within our discipline. The seminar series includes presentations by both Swedish and international scholars. We also discuss books and research papers. The seminar is open to all interested researchers and students.

CRE8® is a fast-paced method for competing in creative problem solving, with an emphasis on innovation. Three to four interdisciplinary teams of students test their problem-solving abilities and pitched their solutions to a jury. Raviv Gal does research that he hopes will contribute to healthier watercourses and increased biodiversity. Fewer blackflies, higher biodiversity, and slower decomposition – these are some of the unexpected effects that freshwater pearl mussels have on their surroundings in the stream. Raviv Gal recently defended his PhD in biology at Karlstad University.
The freshwater pearl mussel is one of Sweden's longest-living animals – some individuals can live up to 280 years.
