Christina Öberg, professor of Marketing, have received a research scholarship from the Knut & Ragnvi Jacobsson Family Foundation for the project "Dealing with the unforeseen - prediction and change in the light of the pandemic and AI".
The project deals with developing research on corporate networks and how business leaders perceive and are affected by networks in decision-making situations.

On June 26th - 29th researchers from CTF, together with more than 200 service researchers and business leaders from around the world, gathered in Miami, Florida, to discuss and present the latest trends and research results in the customer service and customer experience at the annual Frontiers in Service Conference.
In today’s society there is a large amount of data available that businesses and organizations can use to, for example, develop new services.

The musician Judith Kleinman will come to the Ingesund Academy of Music at the end of March to teach ergonomics for musicians. Her teaching is based on the Alexander Technique and the visit takes place within the framework of a teacher exchange within Erasmus.
Judith Kleinman is a musician who studied at the Guildhall School of Music.

Siri Jagstedt is a senior lecturer in Business Administration at Karlstad Business School, where she teaches industrial management and engineering. She now joins CTF to conduct research related to digitalisation and servitization.

– I received my PhD from Chalmers with a thesis on the economy and organisation of technology.

Ellen Moons, professor of physics at Karlstad University was elected a Swedish member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in the discipline of physics.

Ellen Moons is professor of physics at the Department of Engineering and Physics, Karlstad University.
Each year, Karlstad University chooses, after a nomination period, two former students who have used their education inspirationally, have embarked on exiting careers and are good role models for the university’s current students, as Alumni of the Year. The Alumni of the Year for 2017 are Marie Fossum Strannegård and Jörgen Svensson.
Marie Fossum Strannegård obtained a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Information Systems from Karlstad University in 1995.

"Humtank is a think tank for research and education in the humanities, with representatives from fourteen Swedish universities and colleges. It has existed for over ten years and is funded by nearly all Swedish universities engaged in humanities research. Its purpose is to highlight the humanities and their perspectives.
Do you want to participate in an honorable assignment? Every autumn, Karlstad University conducts Academic Celebration. At the ceremony, doctors are promoted and new professors are installed in solemn forms.
We are looking for students who want to participate as a marshal. At the Academic Feast, the Marshal is invited to attend the following dinner and will be seated among the guests if possible in connection with each subject.
On Wednesday, October 30, the computer science department hosted a thesis project fair to help establish connections between students who have applied for thesis projects for the spring and potential sponsors.
11 companies and organizations participated along with around 40 students.

The Academic Celebration is one of the biggest events of the year at Karlstad University and a long-standing tradition. On 20 October it is time again and this year we celebrate passion for research – we present and inauguarate our new Vice-Chancellor Jerker Moodysson during this year's celebration. Mia Larson, Professor of Business Administration, has been awarded “Outstanding paper 2022” by Emerald Publishing for the article “The inevitability of essentializing culture in destination branding: the cases of fika and hygge”.
ISE stands for "Improving value creation through service education" and is a project where the Service Research Center (CTF) at Karlstad University, in collaboration with companies and organisations develop and offer tailored, flexible courses at the advanced level aimed at professionals.
ISE is funded by the Knowledge Foundation between 2020-2025.
Psychology student Olivia Rosén has been awarded Lilla Psykologpriset. The prize of 10,000 SEK is annually awarded by the Swedish Psychological Association to a psychology student who, during their studies, has worked to improve people’s quality of life.
