Seven computer science students have been recognized for what teachers describe as "outstanding" project work in the Software Engineering course at the computer science department.
A degree can be described as proof that you, through your studies, have acquired a certain level of knowledge. When you have completed your studies, you have to apply for your degree certificate.
Your degree certificate details which type of degree you have been awarded, the specific courses included in your degree, the grade you achieved for each course and the dates courses were completed. The degree certificate is in both Swedish and English.
In a joint initiative between Karlstad University, Mälardalen University, Mid Sweden University and Linnaeus University, future research leaders are trained in the leadership programme REAL, Research Leader Initiative Programme.

Elin Skau, why did you choose Karlstad Business School?
- I chose it both because I come from Värmland but also because I heard very good things about the school and student life. The Business School has a super nice campus with good connections to the city centre.
What expectations did you have for the Human resource management and working life program - and were they met?
- I had the expectation of gaining a greater and broader understanding of working life and organizations.
Michel Gokan Khan, PhD student in Computer Science at Karlstad University, has developed the “NFV-Inspector”, a free and fully open source platform for optimizing the infrastructure of the next generation of 5G networks.

The issue of procurement is important in terms of making space for new welfare innovations. In a workshop at Karlstad University, DigitalWell process managers inspired students to procure digital solutions for a healthier working environment.

Claes Thorén, who defended his doctoral dissertation at Karlstad University in the spring of 2014 now returns to give seminar on his recent research. Since his disputation, he has worked as a researcher and later as a senior lecturer and director of studies at Uppsala University.

The total number of programme applicants has increased by eight per cent for the autumn semester 2024. There is also a nine per cent increase in first choice applicants.
The Behavioural Science Programme is among the top ten degree programmes at Karlstad University, which is a newly established programme at the university. The programme attracted 873 applicants, of which 116 are first choice applicants.

The academic insignia hail from the Middle Ages, and include the doctor’s hat, doctor’s ring, and earlier also a book of privileges, which had disappeared from the ceremonies and had been replaced by the diploma. The handshake has symbolic value; it means ‘be greeted’, and the promotor also says these words during the act. The insignia are proof that a doctoral degree has been conferred.

As a response, the Swedish government is investing a total of SEK 100 million over the next few years in Cybercampus Sweden, which has now opened with an inauguration at KTH. The purpose behind the investment is to strengthen both skills supply and research in cyber security.

Perovskite solar cells degrade when exposed to sunlight, which results in decreasing performance over time. A new research project will examine how such solar cells could recover and self-repair at night.
