The spread of coronavirus has had consequences that nobody could have imagined when the first reports from China appeared in January. The ongoing effort to limit the spread of infection and protect old people and persons with previous medical conditions concerns society as a whole, including Karlstad University.
Many people are worried, of course, about health aspects and about the societal consequences that the measures taken will have.

Welcome to a workshop at Karlstad university, November 25, where we address sustainability and resilience aspects of the interesting city of Baltimore, US. You will meet Kristin Baja, Climate and Resilience Planner at the Baltimore Office of Sustainability.
The workshop includes presentations and discussions around how to include and integrate climate adaptation, disaster risk-reduction, energy saving, and empowerment of marginal neighbourhoods in the city planning.

The Grants and Innovation Office (GIO) supports individual researchers and research groups at Karlstad University in developing external funding strategies, as well as working with the personal and professional development of research staff.
Support is offered through a range of competence development activities, for both individuals and groups, as well as in connection with external research funding applications to regional, national and international funders.

In Africa energy supply is an important sustainability and development issue. It is particularly important to develop green energy and utilise natural resources such as sun and wind. The smart electricity grid is an important factor in this development.
(2020-09-03) In the book "The politics of adapting to climate change" authors Leigh Glover and Mikael Granberg from CSR, the Centre for Societal Risk Research, explores political themes and policy perspectives related to, and influencing, climate change adaptation.
The International Project, the IPC project, enables student teachers to meet online to exchange experiences in an international perspective without having to study abroad during parts of their education. At the end of June, teacher education researchers from all over the world gather within the IPC project at Karlstad University for their annual conference.
Student mobility and studying abroad plays a marginal role in the individual experience of teacher students.

Mangroves can thrive in harsh environment and are used to natural perturbations like tropical cyclones. But, with several confounding pressures exacerbating each other, mangroves fail to withstand and diminish.
Mangroves, the coastal cousins of the inland forests, do not only represent a unique set of rich biodiversity but also provide important livelihoods, coastal defence, and carbon sinks.
Per-Olof Nilsson was born in Lidköping in 1939. From an early age he showed interest in how everything around him works. His brother Lennart impressed him with all of his hobbies, including making interesting gadgets.
“I particularly remember his magic lantern. He pasted paper images on glass plates and projected them on a sheet in the barn.”

Popular Music Discourses was a project involving several KuFo members in different constellations. The project was initiated as a popularly oriented open symposium arranged by Andreas Jacobsson and Magnus Ullén in 2016. This was followed by a second symposium in November, 2018, on the theme of "Authenticity and Mediatization". Background
The PilotSTEP project was started in the fall of 2017 as a result of our participation in iSTEP – a one week institute that convenes teams of teacher educators from around the world to observe teacher education at Stanford.
Artist 1990: Record an album, book interviews, go on tour.
Artist 2023: Build a brand, get to know your target audience, release a song on digital platforms and make sure to keep the momentum going 24/7.
It doesn’t matter if the artist, the production, or the songs have a classic, vintage feel. Behind most of the active artists today, there is a whole digital ecosystem.
