On May 27, computer science students presented their theses to an open audience that included companies, faculty, and fellow students.
The new format, where students give presentations of their theses, was introduced under the name EPiCS. It featured over 30 presentations held in three parallel sessions. The day concluded with a dinner in Building 21 in the evening.
One of the presentations was given by students Rasmus Melin and Simon Andersson.

What was it like, studying the Master Programme in Information Systems?
- I had a very good time in Karlstad and I am happy about my choice of education. I had amazing teachers, classmates, tutors and later on even colleagues. The programme consists of many challenging elements and a great freedom of choice.
Why did you choose this programme?
- Originally, I chose Information Systems – the bachelor programme in web and multimedia – because I wanted to be a web developer.
Workshopen som handlade om elbilsladdning samt lagring av solel, lockade ett 70-tal personer. Karlstads universitet, Interreg-projektet ecoInside och Arvika kommun arrangerade i samverkan workshopen där branschfolk delade med sig av sina erfarenheter.
- Vi blev positivt överraskade av det stora gensvaret från berörda företag och myndigheter i regionen, säger Are Kjeang, universitetsadjunkt i miljö- och energisystem.

When we use any type of digital platform – music streaming services, train ticket bookings, dating apps, e-stores – our digital traces are collected, stored, analyzed and used to classify us and our actions.
Surveys from several parts of the country indicate that the pandemic has accelerated digitisation for Swedish companies. The vision for the CriseIT 2 project is well matched with this rapid digitisation.

Solar cell research at Karlstad University has been granted further funding from the Swedish National Space Agency, SNSA. Later this year, the research group in chemistry and materials physics will carry out experiments under microgravity conditions on parabolic flights in Bordeaux, France.
