"I am studying psychological factors that contribute to people succeeding to change and maintaining a new behavior in the long run. My doctoral thesis focuses on behavior change through interventions, that is, by the help of targeted measures or services.

Judith Kiros, PhD student in English Literature at Karlstad University, has in short succession been granted two literary awards – Svenska Dagbladets litteraturpris and Mare Kandre-priset – for her poetry book Det Röda Är Det Gränslösa.

Sexual harassment has always occurred, and the student community is no exception. The Student Health Services at Karlstad University can testify to the fact that sexual harassment does take place, as in the rest of society, and for example in connection with the welcoming of new students, parties and other activities involving alcohol.
The aim is to put a stop to sexual harassment by getting more students to act if situations are out of control. We need your help.

I am a very social and driven girl who likes meeting new people, influencing decisions, and trying out new things. While studying at KAU, I was involved in several student associations and played an active role in the student union. I also worked part-time and played several different sports at KAUIF.
Educational Work is a cross-disciplinary subject and a profession-oriented area of knowledge that focuses on the practice-based issues and phenomena that are central in education. The field includes the work of pupils and teachers, the socialisation of children and young people, their learning inside and outside the classroom and other educational situations.

People’s ways of living and doing gender are deeply intertwined with health and technological practices.
For example, perceptions of gender, that are mutually constituted by intersectional differences such race, class, sexuality and ability, inform and are (re)produced in encounters between health care practitioners, patients and care givers.
RiskLab® is CSR’s primary platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience regarding societal risks and serves as an infrastructure for research on pedagogical methods related to societal risks. The concept includes pedagogical tools, methods and exercises that can be used to spark interest, share knowledge and support learning about societal risks. Through RiskLab®, CSR utilises the power of the creative meeting for learning and problem-solving.

Collaboration is a natural part of education and research at Karlstad University and there are well-established platforms for collaboration.
Swedish higher education offers bachelor’s and master’s programmes, designed to provide students with academic knowledge, critical thinking skills, and practical experience.
Bachelor’s ProgrammesA bachelor’s degree (180 ECTS, 3 years) provides foundational knowledge in a specific field. Some programmes lead to professional degrees, such as in engineering or teaching, which may have additional requirements.

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Karlstad University wishes to honour a person with a prominent role in the Swedish music industry. She also has ties to Värmland and has been of great importance to Ingesund School of Music in connection with the annual Polar Music Prize where she acts as CEO.
