LOCAL TEST (L-TEST) – OPEN GENRE
Applicants to main instrument or vocals in open genre are required to partake in the local entrance test (L-test) by submitting videos according to the instructions below.
You are also expected to partake in a zoom-interview, to talk about your musical orientation. The interview takes place April 30th and is not part of testing.
Open genre welcomes applicants who make music outside of the three areas we call Folk Music, Classical Music or Jazz. You might have your musical preference in many genres, or are yet to find what genre fits you best.
Applicants who pass the tests will be contacted by us before summer, to make a study plan.
TEST COMPONENTS
Three separate video clips should be submitted no later than Wednesday April 23rd 2025 at 16.00. You will receive an e-mail with a link where you will upload your videos. This e-mail will be sent after April 17th 2025. Be prepared to show valid ID during the test period.
One of the videos should be a solo performance. You play your main instrument or sing solo.
Two of the videos should be performed together with another musician or along with a prerecorded song.
You should choose songs where you can perform at your best. Your ability to make music with others are crucial in the assessment. In order for the jury to be able to assess your ability to interplay, it is a requirement that you play together with an ensemble, an accompanist or a recorded accompaniment.
Submit your pieces/songs as three separate video clips. Instructions regarding ID check and how to submit your videos will be sent via email after April 17th 2025.
