E-Vote-ID is an international and annual meeting for electronic voting specialists from all over the world. This years conference was a great success with two keynotes and over 100 participants, included from as far as Fiji, Ecuador and Australia.
Melanie Volkamer, Professor in Computer Science at Karlstad university was part of arranging this years conference which was arranged 18–21 October 2016 in Bregenz, Austria.

On Wednesday 15 February it is time for the job fair Hotspot. Throughout the day, a number of parking spaces north of the University Library will be reserved for the exhibitors of the fair.
Special parking permits will be used on the day to ensure that only exhibitors park their cars there.
Ongoing dissertation projects in History and externally funded research projects are described very briefly below. In addition, lecturers conduct their own research within the framework of their own professional development. The research conducted within the subject is primarily focused on the theme of region building and subject education.
Earlier this week, the Polar Music Prize was awarded at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm. In front of a diverse audience of national and international musicians, actors, other prominent guests, and members of the Swedish royal family, Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen, Herbie Hancock, and Barbara Hannigan received the Polar Music Prize.
”The Swedish R-word” is a research project investigating uses and negotiations of the terms race and racism in a contemporary Swedish context. The project encompasses historical forays into the post-war era as well as a concentrated focus on discourse in contemporary media and social networks.

Judith Kiros, PhD student in English Literature at Karlstad University, has in short succession been granted two literary awards – Svenska Dagbladets litteraturpris and Mare Kandre-priset – for her poetry book Det Röda Är Det Gränslösa.
– It’s wonderful and very unexpected, says an exuberant Judith Kiros.

Sexual harassment has always occurred, and the student community is no exception. The Student Health Services at Karlstad University can testify to the fact that sexual harassment does take place, as in the rest of society, and for example in connection with the welcoming of new students, parties and other activities involving alcohol.
The aim is to put a stop to sexual harassment by getting more students to act if situations are out of control. We need your help.

I am a very social and driven girl who likes meeting new people, influencing decisions, and trying out new things. While studying at KAU, I was involved in several student associations and played an active role in the student union. I also worked part-time and played several different sports at KAUIF.
