E-Vote-ID is an international and annual meeting for electronic voting specialists from all over the world. This years conference was a great success with two keynotes and over 100 participants, included from as far as Fiji, Ecuador and Australia. Melanie Volkamer, Professor in Computer Science at Karlstad university was part of arranging this years conference which was arranged 18–21 October 2016 in Bregenz, Austria.

Together with the University College in Hedmark, Norway, Karlstad University has received a grant for a 3-year project about development of IT support for crisis training. Monika Magnusson and other researchers from Information System will play essential roles in this project. Joint training is an important factor for a well-developed readiness to handle crises.

On Wednesday 15 February it is time for the job fair Hotspot. Throughout the day, a number of parking spaces north of the University Library will be reserved for the exhibitors of the fair. Special parking permits will be used on the day to ensure that only exhibitors park their cars there.

Sexual harassment has always occurred, and the student community is no exception. The Student Health Services at Karlstad University can testify to the fact that sexual harassment does take place, as in the rest of society, and for example in connection with the welcoming of new students, parties and other activities involving alcohol. The aim is to put a stop to sexual harassment by getting more students to act if situations are out of control. We need your help.
