The Interpretation Year is a one-year advanced course where you work on developing your artistic and professional abilities. This course is an additional year aimed at those who already have a bachelor's degree in music but wish to pursue further studies towards a professional career as a musician. During the course, you can develop your skills in preparing for public concerts and video recordings.

At the department of Chemical Engineering, Karlstad University, we have a strong research environment around forest products and processes. We are performing research of how pulp and paper should be manufactured and of how the paper should be coated and printed. About 10 doctoral students are enrolled in our extensive postgraduate programme, half of them being employed directly by the industry.

Mariia is a multidisciplinary researcher and artist from Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia, currently living and working in Japan. She earned a Ph.D. from Chiba University Graduate School of Horticulture, transitioning from environmental science and her life as ecologist to the field of landscape participatory planning, discovering greenery's social and cultural sides.

The fifth edition of Karlstad programming contest is arranged at 8 October by Computer Science at Karlstad University. The contest is part of the Nordic championship, Nordic Collegiate Programming Contest. The contest takes place in teams with up to 3 persons who shall solve a dozen tasks with programming in C, C++, C#, Go, Java, Objective-C or Python.

Vice-chancellor Johan Sterte has made a new decision regarding teaching in the current pandemic. The decision is made to allow the University’s organisation to prepare for a gradual return to campus. As a general rule, distance teaching and examination will continue in the autumn semester of 2021.

Nordtrad is a folk music conference for students and teachers in higher music education from the Nordic and Baltic countries. The conference is arranged every year in rotation by different host schools, and in 2023 Ingesund School of Music is the proud organizer. During the week, students from seven different countries are invited to participate in lectures, workshops, concerts, field trips, jam sessions and fellowship.
