There are two degree pathways at master level: Master of Arts Degree 60 ECTS credits (one year) or 120 ECTS credits (two years). A large proportion of our research is funded by taxes. More and more research financers therefore demand to make results publicy accessible.
Several funding agencies require from researchers who receive funding that they publish open access.
Doctoral studies, or PhD studies, are suitable for those wanting to acquire cutting-edge competence within a particular area and wanting to make a professional career within industry or the public sector or in research.
PhD´s are the most advanced academic qualifications awarded in Sweden.
