U-PrIM (Usable Privacy-enhancing Identity Management for smart applications) is a research project involving the departments of Computer Science, Information Systems and Psychology at Karlstad University (KaU), in collaboration with industry partners Nordea Bank in Denmark and Gemalto in Sweden. The purpose of the project is to find ways of using future mobile technologies that are secure, privacy-friendly and easy to use.

A few years ago, Per Hurtig, researcher at Karlstad University, submitted a standardisation proposal to speed up the internet to the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force)*. Now, in 2016, the standard is finished. Standardising internet mechanisms is a long process and since the first proposal of the optimisation RTOR (RTO Restart) was submitted, it has been evaluated and refined by the IETF “TCP Maintenance and Minor Extensions” working group.

The work now continues towards building a robust and sustainable quality control system as a support for a continuous development of the school. The ongoing effort to limit the spread of infection and protect old people and persons with previous medical conditions concerns society as a whole, including Karlstad University.
