So far, nine applications from researchers at Karlstad University have been granted a total of close to SEK 40.5 million. Bo Edvardsson, Professor at CTF and Assistant Vice Chancellor at Karlstad University, have received the Visiting Erskine Fellowship at the College of Business and Law at University of Canterbury, New Zealand. Bo Edvardsson will spend a month as a visiting Professor at University of Canterbury. The university is located in Christchurch, the largest city on the south islands, with about 350 000 inhabitants.

A few years ago, Per Hurtig, researcher at Karlstad University, submitted a standardisation proposal to speed up the internet to the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force)*. Now, in 2016, the standard is finished. Standardising internet mechanisms is a long process and since the first proposal of the optimisation RTOR (RTO Restart) was submitted, it has been evaluated and refined by the IETF “TCP Maintenance and Minor Extensions” working group.
