Jakob Olsson, PhD in Comparative Literature at Karlstad University, has been awarded the Martha Sandwall-Bergström Scholarship for his research in children’s and young adult literature. The scholarship is awarded every other year to authors and researchers active in the field.

Applicants shall also demonstrate their knowledge in a music theory exam. The theory exam will take place on site at the Ingesund School of Music 18-22 of March 2024. The exam consists of three parts: Music and notation (ear skills), music fundamentals and writing four-part chordal background/harmonic analysis.

There will be a national minute of silence on Tuesday 11 February in honour of the victims of the tragedy in Örebro. Karlstad University will participate.
The initiative of a national minute of silence was declared by the Swedish government, who also urge that flags be flown at half-mast from 09.00 until the moment of silence has ended.

Master's student Ida Wadenbrandt worked during the holidays, touring with Robert Wells and Rhapsody in Rock from December 27 to January 6 in China. Intense days that have sparked a desire for more projects abroad and more work in China.

- I am about to start my second year of my PhD studies at CTF under the supervision of professor Per Skålén. I spent my first year taking PhD courses all over Sweden and building the theoretical foundation upon which the empirical part of my study will be based.
