The bulk of the conference program takes place at Karlstad University campus, which is located about 8 km out side of the city center. The easiest way to travel between accommodation down town and the university campus is by bus.

We have reserved a number of rooms at two centrally located hotels in down town Karlstad.

On 1 February this year, Adrian Sangfelt moved from Uppsala to Karlstad to begin work as an associate senior lecturer in Swedish with a specialisation in didactics.

This is the result so far from the research project “User oriented innovation in Primary Care” conducted by CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University in collaboration with the County Council of Värmland, Sweden. MIRAI is a collaborative project between seventeen Swedish and Japanese universities, aiming to strengthen cooperation in education, research, and innovation. The goal is to increase collaboration across disciplines and sectors, focusing on addressing societal challenges such as climate crises, pandemics, and an aging population.
The third phase of MIRAI (2024-2026) focuses on global challenges, which will be addressed in collaboration (Project Plan 2024-2026).

For some, anonymity on the internet is a necessity. Researchers at Karlstad University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and Princeton University have discovered a new attack against the Tor anonymity network that uses the Domain Name System (DNS).
Tor is the world’s largest anonymity network with around two million daily users, and it is used to avoid surveillance and to circumvent censorship online.

On 1 November 2024, Karlstad University welcomed a new professor as Sofia Wijkmark was appointed professor of comparative literature.
"It feels very exciting! I’m mostly looking forward to having more time for research," she says.
