Regional cooperation
At Karlstad University, there has been a deeply developed collaboration for many years between the IT industry and researchers, teachers, and students in the fields of computer science and informatics. In both education and research, we strive to collaborate with companies, public entities and organizations in society that use and develop IT.
Most research is conducted together with external partners in various projects, where we highlight different aspects of problems and solutions based on a common goal.
Students studying computer science or informatics at Karlstad University are highly likely to connect with some local companies, either through project work, internships, or their thesis work. Many of these activities are organized together with the local IT company cluster, Compare.
COMPARE
Compare is an innovation platform where companies, startups, the public sector, investors, researchers, and the innovation support system work together to address society's challenges with forward-looking digital technology. Compare is the collaborative organization for IT and telecommunications companies in the Karlstad region, with over 100 companies as stakeholders. Through collaboration, Compare aims to contribute to the growth of its stakeholder companies in the region.
Through various initiatives, Compare works towards three defined focus areas – digital competence, digital business development and digital innovation.
