The activities of the Center for Gender Research are conducted by researchers at Karlstad University and coordinated by a director. The work is assisted by an advisory board. The Board works in different ways with gender-relevant issues in business and development both in academia, business and government.
In his doctoral thesis, Johan Eklund, lecturer in computer science at Karlstad University,
shows how SCTP and multihoming can be applied to real time traffic. Real time traffic is not only dependent on data being delivered correctly, but also on time.
Different types of real time traffic have different time demands. Some traffic (hard real-time traffic) is strictly dependent on being delivered on time.
The decarbonization of economy is happening at a time of increased conflicts, but the relationship between renewable energy and conflict is poorly understood.
In the project PERUPP, AI will be fed with offers from actors in the tourism industry to enhance the Värmland experience.

- I will spend the spring semester here at University of Otago to work on my thesis, make new contacts and develop my international network. In addition, I will take the opportunity to experience a beautiful country with amazing nature and incredibly nice people.

Traditionally, Internet-based services have had few options on how to optimize communication between involved parties. This was previously not a problem as most services had one major requirement, high throughput, which also was considered by nearly all components of Internet hardware and software. Recent years have, however, seen a major increase in both services with other requirements and in technologies, used to access the Internet, with significantly different characteristics.
The Public Health Agency of Sweden has, in consultation with medical officers for infectious disease control and the County Administrative Board of Värmland, decided on stricter general guidelines. The aim is to further reduce unnecessary contact between people and thereby the spread of infection.
The alumna of the month has made a super quick career from graduation in 2012 to a position of head consultant at Adeccotoday. She discovered what she wanted to study when working at McDonald’s. Meet Elizabeth Eriksson.

Anders Hultqvist was born and raised in Småland. He managed his own press photography business, completed his military service at the Artillery Cadet and Aspirant School in Jönköping, served as an adviser on international law and reserve officer for just over 20 years, and worked as a police officer in Stockholm for five years.
During his years in as a police officer Anders Hultqvist started studying law and obtained his degree in 1985.

Ida Flink is Professor of Psychology at the Department of Social and Psychological Studies, Karlstad University. Her research focuses on the treatment of chronic pain, with a recent emphasis on vulvodynia.

Olle, could you tell us about your background before joining Karlstad Business School and the Service Research Center (CTF)?
– I have a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from Karlstad Business School, where I studied the master's program in Innovation and Service Development. During my time at Karlstad Business School, I also taught mathematics to first-year students, which was both fun and educational.

"Eldkonst" is a show arranged anually during several years by Karlstad University, Karlstad Municipality and Värmland's Museum.
The new book “Quality of Life and Daily Travel” describes the relationships between life satisfaction, well-being and daily travel. The authors discuss travel and quality of life to the built environment, travel mode choice, travel satisfaction and emotions, and presents case studies highlighting different aspects in daily travel and well-being.

Judith Kiros, PhD student in English Literature at Karlstad University, has in short succession been granted two literary awards – Svenska Dagbladets litteraturpris and Mare Kandre-priset – for her poetry book Det Röda Är Det Gränslösa.
