Access Norstedts dictionaries both online and offline The library provides access to several dictionaries through the portal WordFinder. With WordFinder Online, you can access your dictionaries via a web browser. If you create a free personal account you will be able to download programs and apps. In order to ensure that our educations are well adapted to the needs of the labor market, we regularly follow up the alumni who have graduated from the School of Business and Economics. During the years 2017-2023, 3065 people graduated from the Business School. Of these, 39 percent were men and 61 percent women.

Rasmus Dahlberg, a computer engineering student at Karlstad University, had a summer job at the university a few months ago. This has now led to his participation in an international conference on secure IT systems. During the summer of 2016, Rasmus worked as assistant in HITS, High Quality Networked Services in a Mobile World, a project conducted by Computer Science at Karlstad University.

Günter Alce, who recently defended a licentiate thesis in Lund, held a seminar June 17, 2015. Günter and advisers at Sony Mobile and Lund University have developed the WozARd system and has received a couple of study visits from us earlier this academic year. In this seminar, Günter did not only speak about Wizard of Oz for development of Augmented Reality.

Four students on the Master of Science in Engineering programme helped to develop Dysconnect, an app with podcast dramas that enhance the listening experience through interactive effects. The ICA Journalism Studies Division Book Award has been awarded to Henrik Örnebring and Michael Karlsson, both professors of media and communication science at Karlstad University, for their book “Journalistic Autonomy: The Genealogy of a Concept.” Additionally, their article titled “Recoding Journalism: Establishing Normative Dimensions for a Twenty-First Century News Media” has achieved success and received The Bob Franklin Journal Article Award.

Cornelia Brantner holds a PhD and a master’s degree from the Department of Journalism and Communication at the University of Vienna, Austria. After her PhD, she had a postdoctoral position which concluded with a few months at the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where she deepened her knowledge of digital methods, such as network analysis.
