Johan Högberg has written a dissertation on this topic and sees gamification as a powerful tool to change or maintain behavior. "I have looked at certain parts of the gaming experience, and how to use it for marketing purposes. I have conducted experiments in stores and investigated how to create customer engagement and sales with the help of gamification.

Corrinne Kelley, Ph. D Student at Florida State University, USA, is currently visiting CTF for three weeks to work on a joint project with our researchers Anders Gustafsson and Poja Shams. – I am visiting CTF to help run an experiment for a project I have been working on with Anders Gustafsson, Poja Shams and my two advisors Maura L. Scott and Martin Mende. We will be using a scent machine as well as eye tracking technology.

During this program, I completed 1st year from University of Trento, Italy and 2nd year from Technical University of Berlin,Germany. How do you like your new hometown? I don’t like it, I love it!

On 8 October the fifth edition of the Karlstad Programming Contest took place. The event is organised by Computer Science at Karlstad University. A record number of teams participated and tried to solve difficult programming tasks. The Karlstad Programming Contest is a leg of the Nordic Collegiate Programming Contest (NCPC), which takes place simultaneously at 19 Nordic universities and university colleges.

Joann Peck Visiting Professor

Joann Peck has been appointed Visiting Professor at CTF. The Visiting professorship is funded by Anne-Marie and Gustaf Ander Foundation for Media Research, which provide grants to cover the cost of a visiting professor at the CTF for a month during the next three years. - I am so excited to be invited as a Visiting professor at CTF and Karlstad University. I have been fortunate to work with Anders Gustafsson at CTF on several projects in various retail settings.

Making a Difference with ACR

"Making a Difference" was the theme of the Association for Consumer Research North American Conference that was held October 3-6 in Chicago, USA. The conference had about 1500 participants, including several world-leading researcher in consumer behavior. CTF was represented by researchers Anders Gustafsson and Tobias Otterbring. Professor Anders Gustafsson and PhD Student Tobias Otterbring presented two studies.
