Welcome to Karlstad University! What and where have you studied before you began your employment here in February?
I completed my MSc from EIT Digital Master Program with a focus on innovation in Security and Privacy. During this program, I completed 1st year from University of Trento, Italy and 2nd year from Technical University of Berlin,Germany.
How do you like your new hometown?
I don’t like it, I love it!

Joann Peck has been appointed Visiting Professor at CTF. The Visiting professorship is funded by Anne-Marie and Gustaf Ander Foundation for Media Research, which provide grants to cover the cost of a visiting professor at the CTF for a month during the next three years.
- I am so excited to be invited as a Visiting professor at CTF and Karlstad University. I have been fortunate to work with Anders Gustafsson at CTF on several projects in various retail settings.

"Making a Difference" was the theme of the Association for Consumer Research North American Conference that was held October 3-6 in Chicago, USA. The conference had about 1500 participants, including several world-leading researcher in consumer behavior. CTF was represented by researchers Anders Gustafsson and Tobias Otterbring.

The Christmas and New Year Holidays are approaching and we have a successful, but also challenging year behind us. Now, we look forward to a new eventful and hopefully less pandemic-affected year.
We had a great start in 2020 with a Phd defence in business administration, we welcomed several new doctoral students and senior lecturers, and started several new research initiatives.

Collaboration, data and service design are examples of what will be discussed at Service Convention Sweden 2020 which will be held on 25-26 November. We invite representatives from the public and private sectors and academia to focus on how to solve some of our most important societal challenges.

As on a poster on a science conference. This is part of the examination task for the students on the course Advanced service management at the Karlstad Business school – and a way to use research methods in teaching.
It was the second year that the students got to work with content and modeling of posters, which were then exhibited in the Business school building, house 11.

– As part of the Erasmus mobility program, I will be joining Karlstad Business School to contribute to the International Business class as a guest lecturer. My role involves delivering a lecture on International Marketing Ethics, emphasizing sustainability within challenging industries such as tourism and luxury.

Henrik Rahm grew up in Linköping and completed a degree in education in Lund in the 1980s, specialising in German, Swedish and Swedish as a second language.

Annika Rudman was born and raised in Borås, but has family ties to Värmland as her father and grandparents come from Höljes in northern Värmland. She has a law degree and a master’s degree in human rights from Lund University.
After completing her studies in Lund, she moved to Gothenburg where she completed her PhD at the School of Global Studies with a thesis on women’s property rights in southern Africa.
At Karlstad University there is a project called: To develop teaching on social issues: content selection and transformation in social studies education in upper elementary school, year 4-6.

If you are a non-EU citizen, the first thing you need to do is to apply for a residence permit. In Sweden, residence permits are handled by the Swedish Migration Agency. If you are an EU citizen, you are free to move to Sweden at any time to start working.

The service research community received excellent news for its journals from the 2017 Journal Citation Reports (JCR) by Clarivate Analytics. All seven service research journals covered in Web of Science have increased their impact factors from the previous year. Especially notable is the increase of Journal of Service Research’s impact factor from 2.463 to 6.847.

Fredrik Wikström was born and raised in Uppsala. He has a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Physics from Uppsala University, where he also studied biology for a year.
Mobile networks are constantly evolving to enable improved throughput and low latency for applications. However, it has been shown that current standard congestion control algorithms can cause long delays in mobile networks due to over-allocation of buffers. In his thesis, Habtegebreil Kassaye Haile has investigated the performance of two possible solutions to this problem.
