If you are a non-EU citizen, the first thing you need to do is to apply for a residence permit. In Sweden, residence permits are handled by the Swedish Migration Agency. If you are an EU citizen, you are free to move to Sweden at any time to start working.
Applying for a residence permit
There are three types of permits that are commonly used.
Cellulose is produced from pine and fir and can be a future environment-friendly textile fibre, according to a study of cellulose production, presented in a doctoral thesis at Karlstad University in Sweden.
The population of the world is increasing and so is the average income, which means that the demand for clothes and other textiles is rising too. The global textile consumption in 2050 is estimated to be three times as high as in 2015.

Agnieszka Kitkowska is a new postdoctoral researcher at CTF where she is studying online privacy and decision-making, and barriers that consumers face during digital transactions.
What is your background and what brought you to CTF?"I have a multidisciplinary background with one master's degree in art and one in computing. Last year, I successfully defended my Ph.D. in Computer Science.

On 27–28 September, Computer Science at Karlstad University organised a workshop to gain external input on the research group. Staff presented the research environment to an International Advisory Board (IAB) that gave feedback for further development.
It was clear that the Computer Science research group has developed significantly on many fronts since been designated an excellent research environment in 2014.

The second Mathematics Meets Industry day (MIMM®) was held at Karlstad University on 12 December. Together with representatives from Rolls-Royce, Sogeti and Uddeholm, upper-secondary students, university students, researchers and teachers tried to find mathematical solutions to problems that are yet to be solved.

"I spent two wonderful months as a visiting researcher at the University of Auckland Business School working with a large group of people including: Suvi Nenonen, Julia Fehrer, Rod Brodie, Charlotta Windahl and Kaj Storbacka at the University of Auckland, and Jonathan Baker at the Auckland University of Technology.

The aim of the session is to explore current research within feminist critical border studies and to discuss the possible potentials and challenges that such research entails for both gender studies and critical border studies more widely.
Feminist debates on intersectionality and on the exclusions or inclusions produced by our theoretical and methodological choices are an integral part of the field of gender studies.

The project aims to assess the feasibility of NeuroACT — skills training based on principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy — and the associated changes over time for adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders. The project is a within-group study conducted at child and adolescent psychiatry services in Karlstad, Sweden.

Nina Lykke has a background in comparative literature, but her main focus has always been gender. She held a position as researcher in gender studies at the University of Southern Denmark from 1981 to 1999, and headed the university’s centre for women and gender studies during this period. She was appointed to the position of docent [associate professor] at the same university in 1992, with a dissertation on feminism and psychoanalysis.

Carina Bååth was born in Katrineholm and grew up in Kil in Värmland. She got her degree in Nursing in Karlstad in 1983. After continuing professional development in orthopaedics, Carina Bååth spent many years working for Region Värmland as an orthopaedic nurse, quality assurance nurse, and operational developer.

“My research focus is on older adults, in care and outside of it, and on care providers. The family of the older adult is included in the research, as are nursing students and their learning, and the management and organisation that affects care and the older adult’s experience.”
Karin Josefsson hails from Västmanland and became a registered nurse in Skövde in 1982, with continuing professional development in geriatrics in 1984 in Östersund.
A new study in the SELMA project at Karlstad University, Sweden, shows that flooring material of soft PVC in the home is a source for uptake of phthalates in pregnant women, phthalates that are considered dangerous in the EU chemical regulation system.
PVC flooring often contain phthalates to make the plastic soft.
