You are a professor of Marketing and Head of the Department of Marketing and the Institute for Marketing Management at Vienna University of Economics and business (WU Vienna). Can you tell us about your research? – My primary areas of research are marketing, innovation, and consumer behavior. Martina Jordan This is a PhD project which focus on the implementation and application of Motivational interviewing in schools. Motivational interviewing (MI) is a collaborative communication style used to promote individuals’ own motivation and self-efficacy. In seeking to develop and strengthen teachers’ relational approaches and knowledge, and to support pupils’ motivation, interest in applying MI in schools has increased.

Teachers across the Nordic countries are happy to include literature in their teaching. But what they want their pupils to learn from the literature differs between the countries. This is one of the findings of a doctoral thesis by Anna Nissen at Karlstad University. "I hope my research offers teachers new insights, helping them identify areas for improvement in their teaching as well as what they are already doing successfully.

It will also be up to the individual teacher and his/her supervisor to choose the courses that are most relevant in their particular case. ...you have recently spent a week in Croatia on an Erasmus exchange. What did you do there? - I have been at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) at the University of Zagreb. This is the most prestigious university and engineering faculty in Croatia. I was there for one week on Erasmus teaching mission. I held lectures in two courses, gave student consultations for master and PhD students and I held a research colloquium.

Fredrik Svensson highlights neglected aspects of a decades-long authorship that has produced a considerable number of novels, plays, and screenplays. McCarthy’s oeuvre spans over five decades, from the 1960s to the early 2000s, and includes ten novels.

On June 12-15 researchers from CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University, Sweden, gathered in Porto for the QUIS15 symposium. The symposium is held every other year and attracts around 250 leading researchers and executives from all over the world. CTF researchers Per Skålén, Carolina Camén and Bo Edvardsson participated in a workshop on Transformative service research.

The conference was hosted by Fordham University, Gabelli School of Business, New York, USA, and attracted more than 350 service researchers and business leaders from around the world. Fredrik Wikström is a newly appointed professor of Energy and Environmental Technology. He conducts research on how packaging can contribute to a sustainable development where less food is wasted. In recent years, this research has been praised and received attention in the media. Fredrik Wikström holds a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Physics at Uppsala University and received his PhD in Systems Ecology from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
