When you run into problems during your doctoral studies you can contact our PhD ombud. Our PhD ombudswoman gives individual support and counseling to all doctoral students. All matters are handled with strict confidentiality.
I can be of support if there are issues you want to discuss concerning your research education.
KuFo organises the seminar series for PhD students at the Department of Language, Literature and Intercultural Studies (ISLI). Usually the seminar focuses on developing dissertation-related drafts. Dates and times may be found on KuFo's schedule of activities here.

The Swedish IT-Security Network for PhD students (SWITS) was created in 2001.
Purpose
- To enhance cooperation between Swedish PhD candidates and research labs
- To identify PhD courseware usable on national level and make these available to participating departments
- To identify existing PhD courses at Swedish Universities/ University Colleges and make them available for all students within the network
- To participate in the organization of compact IT security c

Supervision
Doctoral students are entitled to supervision and are meant to have at least two supervisors, one of whom should be the principal supervisor
This spring yet another PhD student has been affiliated with CTF. We are happy to welcome JanErik Odhe, PhD student in Machine Design at KTH, Stockholm, and university lecturer at Karlstad University.
JanErik Odhe is investigating how to measure servitization in manufacturing companies, which involve development processes and business models. He is involved in two current projects at CTF.

UKÄ, Swedish Higher Education Authority (Universitetskanslerämbetet), has evaluated the quality of PhD programmes in computer science at Swedish higher education institutions. The PhD programme in computer science at Karlstad University is reviewed to be of high quality in the evaluation.

Sture Nöjd is a new PhD student in Psyhology at CTF. His research will focus on the development of digital tools and services based on the needs and possibilities that customers, patients, and citizens are experiencing, or could expect to experience in the future.
Sture is a certified psychologist and graduated from Umeå Unviersity in 2000.

Nearly 1 in 5 PhD students at Karlstad University experience enough stress to adversely affect their mental well-being. This is revealed in a survey by the Graduate Student Association (GSA).
– The HR office is currently working on an action plan, says Patrik Larsson, pro-vice-chancellor and chair of the Health and Safety Committee.
The survey was conducted in May and June and presented in a report in November.

Janna Dervisic has a master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Karlstad University, and has been working in the construction industry the past year.
