He has now been recognised by Google for his contributions to the open-source movement and the development of the internet. By its own account, Google depends on open source code and developers outside of the company.

Kotaiba Aal, PhD student at CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University, has been awarded the Hedelius scholarhip of SEK 100,000 to visit Texas State University, San Marcos, USA, where he will be working on his doctoral thesis. Kotaiba Aal will spend six months as a visiting graduate student at Texas State University in San Marcos.

We are pleased to welcome our new PhD student, Emad Uddin, who will work on the Drive project, focusing on improving service quality in 5G and 6G networks through data-driven analysis. The core of the project is to analyze network traffic over time using statistics and machine learning to make better decisions and adapt traffic based on the network’s status.
CSD started in 2006 and consists of 20 researchers at Karlstad university. We collaborate with researchers from other universities in Sweden, the Nordics and internationally. The PhD Mini Conference starts on October 22 after lunch (following the FEKIS PhD course in the morning), and will be held in a constructive, collaborative, inclusive and friendly environment. I also have a couple of years of work in computer networks and a couple of years I worked in industry. Tell us about your previous research - For my master's thesis, I studied the adoption of blockchain-based applications in higher education.
