Muhammad Ovais Ahmad, associate professor in Computer Science, was presented with Best Paper Award at the 2024 International Conference on Technologies & Organization for his work, "Symbiotic Nexus between Social Sustainability and Large-Scale Agility in Nordic Technology Enterprises." Often when radical technological development happens, I gaze at it from a distance and try to understand it's impact on my life. This time I got to be a part of the revolution. I’m talking about the eye-tracking revolution, a journey that has been amazing to be a part of during the past 10 years. A journey that has just started. Ten years ago I approached Tobii Technology with a radical suggestion, to lend me an eye-tracker.
During spring, we ask questions to our visitors in the library in order to get feedback about our library services. A whiteboard has been placed in the reading room on floor 2, with various questions changing weekly. We look forward to the answers from our visitors! Thanks to Malmö University Library for the inspiration. Thank you for all your answers!

This is what researchers at CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University, will investigate in a new research project. Together with the County Council of Värmland and CGI, they will develop and test a digital method for patient involvement in healthcare.

Open Access deal - Taylor & Francis

The library and the Bibsam consortia has signed an read and publish agreement with Taylor & Francis for 2025-2027, which gives researchers at Karlstad University the possibility to publish open access in approximately 2,200 of Taylor & Francis hybrid journals without charges.
In a new five-year research program CSR will study how society can handle the impacts of a changing climate and remain resilient. Resilient here meaning an ability to retain steering and control and society's vital functions.   Resilience is a concept that in recent years has become established in the field of risk and safety, in science as well as practice.

The introduction of new technology can also be a challenge that must be addressed, especially if the company operates globally.

Social media has helped normalise the far right. The algorithms amplify and advance strong feelings and opinions and turn us all into consumers of extreme views. This has been identified in Enjoying the Fall, a new doctoral thesis at Karlstad University by Pasko Kisić-Merino. – One example is how the idea of “the immigrant”, in particular the male immigrant, is constantly being connected to violence, criminality, and genderphobia at the hands of the far-right.
