On March 1 Daniela Sangiorgi, researcher from Imagination Lancaster University in England, is visiting CTF. She conducts research on service innovation, service design, and service design as a changing tool in both public and private organizations.

We welcome Martina Caic, new postdoctoral researcher at CTF. During the next two years, she will, among other things, conduct research on how new technologies affects value co-creation within different networks of actors. Martina Caic holds a PhD from Maastricht University, the Netherlands, where she was a Marie Curie Fellow within the EU-funded project Service Design for Innovation Network, SDIN. The SDIN project was funded by Horizon 2020 during 2015-2018.

The visit was part of an ongoing project, consequences to human health in Bangladesh by Climate Change, which aims at developing a strong research network in the field of Climate change and health. The design of public space requires a deep understanding of the way large numbers of people move. Of particular importance are their dynamical interactions and the resulting collective behaviour. This is a key issue not only in designing e.g. railway stations, airports, but also in ensuring the safety of crowds at large public events. However, the modelling and computation of such groups of people is still in its infancy.
